Who I Am

I am a Sydney based writer, director, reluctant producer currently working in film distribution. As a kid, I spent hours watching and rewatching the Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition DVD appendices where I would got an early, behind the scenes look at the craft of filmmaking and storytelling. I knew I didn’t want to just be an audience member, I wanted to be a filmmaker.

What I love about cinema is that it brings all the art forms together. Writing, performance, image, music, costume, interior design.. it all comes together as one thing; a story that can expand our minds and hearts, show us perspectives and experiences that are not our own, yet become our own lived experience through the screen. As my old screenwriting teacher would say “They’re called moving pictures. So move me.”

I am passionate about telling stories that feel distinctly Australian while resonating on a universal level through heart and genre. I am inspired by the potential for local storytelling to reach global audiences.

But there’s more to me than cinema. I love yoga, swimming, philosophy, home cooking and professional wrestling. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel a lot in my life, mostly to North America, New Zealand and Europe. Evidence for which can be found on my photography page. I’ve been to Kurt Cobain’s house, I’ve seen bones buried underneath Paris, I can tell you why Venice is not as touristy as you think, and most importantly that the best fish and chips is in New Zealand.

What I’ve Made

In 2024 I released a short film called “Lady May”; a romantic drama set within, and made in collaboration with, the Sydney BDSM community. Grounded in an authentic portrayal of consent and aftercare, Lady May explores expectations of gender, and power in relationships by demystifying a ubiquitously misrepresented subculture. The film was featured most notably at the Academy Award Qualifying Santa Fe International Film Festival.

What I’m Doing Next

I’m currently in the early stages of making two short films in the last quarter of 2026. I’m also writing a coming-of-age feature film. Email me if you want to talk about it.
